What does it do?
It provides a radiant boost in less than 60 minutes by combining the best bio-stimulating ingredients on the market for comprehensive skin regeneration and immediate, long-lasting results.
How does it work?
We use a stamping technique (similar technique that we use in microchanneling) to create channels in the skin. We then infuse those open channels with a cocktail of biostimulators. These biostimulators activate the body’s cells, triggering the production of collagen and elastin fibers, which are the vital components of healthy, youthful-looking skin. This process, known as neocollagenesis, is essential for maintaining skin health and elasticity. The result is improved skin elasticity and reduced fine lines & wrinkles.
How is the facial performed?
Application of the Mermaid Facial is through mesotherapy. Mesotherapy is a special micro-stamping technique, where fine, tiny needles penetrate the top surface (or epidermis) of your skin in a unique method that delivers the serum directly into the skin layers. How can I prepare for my appointment?
One Week Prior:
Avoid blood thinning (over-the-counter) medications such as aspirin, Motrin, ibuprofen, and Aleve.
PLEASE consult with your provider about your PRESCRIBED blood thinning medications prior to your appointment.
Avoid supplements, including St. John’s Wort, Gingko biloba, primrose oil, garlic, ginseng, and Vitamin E.
2 Days Prior:
Avoid topical products such as Tretinoin (Retin-A), Retinol, Retinoids, Glycolic Acid, or any “anti-aging” products.
Avoid treatments such as waxing, bleaching, tweezing, or using hair removal cream on the area to be treated.
You may start taking over-the-counter Arnica tablets found at your local pharmacy. Start at least two days prior to the procedure, following the medication instructions.
Avoid alcohol at least 48 hours prior to your appointment
General Recommendations
If you have a history of facial cold sores, there is a risk that the treatment can contribute to another active cold sore/s. Please let your doctor prescribe an antiviral medication, such as valacyclovir (Valtrex®), to start taking a few days before the procedure.
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, it’s a NOPE.
Avoid if you suspect that you have an allergy to any ingredients
If you are being treated for an active infection, PLEASE stay home until you finish your antibiotics and/or antiviral prescription.
Clear your schedule of any major events for at least 2-3 days or so after your treatment. You may still have some swelling and redness, especially if treated around the eyes and lips.
What happens when I am there for my treatment?
We will always conduct a thorough consultation with you prior to any procedure to make treatment recommendations to meet your cosmetic needs, review your medical and past cosmetic history, discuss treatment options, expected recovery, longevity of results, and go over any risks involved with the procedure. Prior to any cosmetic treatments, it is required to fill out any required medical history and consent forms. It is also standard to take before and after photos for your medical chart. If unable to do any of these, then we will not be able to treat you.
If we have decided that this treatment is the best option for you, we will prepare your skin by cleansing the treatment areas. The treatment is fairly quick, taking anywhere from 10-25 minutes to complete.
Once the treatment is completed, you will have some redness that will minimize with the application of our CO2 Pro Lift mask.
We will then go over expectations for healing (if any), post care instructions, and make recommendations for any additional treatment appointments or follow ups.
What happens after my treatment?
Don’t expect to see any results when leaving the office. Typically, it can take days to weeks after your 3rd recommended session for your best results! However, clients have noticed great results after just ONE TREATMENT!
For the most part, recovery after is fairly simple. Many people resume their usual activities within 24 hours.
You might notice that there is some redness in the treated areas which is expected after any treatment. Please speak with your provider of what to use for skincare following your treatment.
